iFest
The annual festival, which takes place every year during the last two weeks of April, is a celebration of music, art and dance from around the world hosted across more than 16 acres of the downtown Houston area's parks The festival began its life in 1971 as a simple art festival, but by 1976 it achieved some of the scale that it enjoys today. Finally in 1987 the event shifted to focus on diversity as much as art, and it was renamed the Houston International Festival. Each year the festival highlights a new culture. Past countries have included Australia, India, Spain, Brazil, China and Thailand among many others. In 2010 the festival celebrated the Caribbean, and in 2011 celebrated by tracing Marco Polo's journey from Europe, through India and into China. This year a non-stop live performance schedule will feature Reggae greats Steel Pulse, Texas blues rockers Los Lonely Boys and jazzy New Orleans band Galactic. Other World Stage performers include the swampy blues band JJ Grey and MOFRO, African reggae group Tidal Waves and Venezuela's funky Latin dance band Los Amigos Invisibles. The Festival takes place on April 21-22 and April 28-29. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and an admission ticket is required. Visit their site to check performers schedules and purchase tickets. www.ifest.org

10:58 AMCommunity Enhancements
The management team at the Estates at Bellaire strives to make your community a beautiful, welcomed retreat in which you can be proud to call home. Along with these efforts, will also come some needed improvements and cooperation on behalf of every resident and their guests.
Beginning April 2, 2012 and in the upcoming months, we will have various construction crews working throughout the community making repairs, delivering supplies and giving the exteriors a fresh coat of paint. With careful consideration given to the residents, these crews will be working between the hours of 8:00am – 6:00pm, with the possibility of a few weekends. They should not need access into your apartment unless you are notified 24-48 hours in advance.
In addition, various repairs will be completed throughout the parking garage. If a section is blocked off in order to make these repairs, we will try to accommodate those with reserved parking spaces as they can utilize the designated guest parking, however, your patience in advance is greatly appreciated.
Further notices will be provided if necessary to keep you informed of the various changes and community enhancements. Feel free to contact the management team should you have any questions or concerns at (713) 667-1771.
We look forward to these upcoming enhancements and we hope this process will continue as smooth as possible. Your patience and understanding is appreciated in advance.
Respectfully,
The Estates at Bellaire Team
